Extending the Most Able
The Howard has an excellent record in extending the most able students and is committed to a policy of differentiation in teaching and learning. This encompasses variety, enrichment, extension and support for students. The school’s Most Able policy ensures the identification of students, the provision of extension and enrichment activities and the careful monitoring of progress to ensure that students achieve their very best. Our core aim is to ensure students are extended within the classroom.
In addition, there are enrichment activities which run throughout the year. These extend our students and encourages them to become involved in activities outside the normal curriculum time.
The Extended Project Qualification is available to our most able students in the Sixth Form.
