Course Description:
Pure mathematics takes up 2/3 of the course including topics on functions, algebra, proof, coordinate geometry, sequences and series, trigonometry, exponentials and logarithms, differentiation, integration, numerical methods and vectors. Statistics and mechanics make up the rest of the course. Topics in statistics include sampling, data presentation and interpretation, probability and distributions. Mechanics includes kinematics, forces and Newton’s laws. Students will develop the use of technology to model and explore solutions to problems including the use of spreadsheets, graphic calculators and graphing software.
Assessment Format Pure maths paper 1: 2 hours Pure maths paper 2: 2 hours Applied maths paper 3: 2 hours
