Course Description:
1. The living environment (including conditions for life on Earth, conservation of biodiversity, life processes in the biosphere) 2. The physical environment (including the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the lithosphere, biogeochemical cycles, soil) 3. Energy resources (including sustainability and renewable sources) 4. Pollution (including air pollution, oil spills, bioaccumulation of toxic chemicals, and plastic) 5. Biological resources (including agriculture, aquatic food resources, forest resources) 6. Sustainability (including the circular economy and sustainable development) 7. Research methods (including lab-based and fieldwork scientific methodologies, and data analysis) Assessment Format
Two 3-hour written exam papers, 50% each, with a combination of multiple choice, short answer and extended writing questions.
Board: AQA Course Entry Requirements: GCSE Grade 5 in Trilogy (Combined Science) or Triple Science and Grade 5 in Maths
